Your brain is killing you.

It chemically rewards you for doing things that used to promote survival. Food, social validation, and rest, interact with your brain telling you that you spent your energy well.

In a survival situation, this is perfectly tailored to encourage safety and a full belly without expending to much energy.

We are no longer in a survival situation.

Our brain reward system now tells us to keep eating well after we are full, to immerse ourself in synthesized, false, digital social validation, to avoid unnecessary exercising.

Dopamine used to be hard to release, only rewarding us when we did something worthwhile. Now we have hijacked our own system to create patterns of self destruction.

But all is not lost.

Humans are the only creatures that are capable of transending their own biology. We can choose a different path.

Today’s struggle is not survival but what to do now that we have survived. Struggle is essential to life, but we live in a time where remarkable, we can choose what that struggle will be.

Choose to reject cheap dopamine. Work for it.
