Each day, the Unites States spends almost 2,000 lifetimes on social media.

This is not time well spent. Some claim to use it to relax, or keep up with friends, or laugh. It’s a lie. Life is not how long you live, but how much you live. Scrolling social media is no life at all.

Social Media does not make us happier, more fulfilled, more productive, more social, smarter, more connected, or more free. It is an addicting, mind killing drug that robs our lives of meaning.

Modern social media is, in my estimation, the worst thing humans have ever created.

This is our generations cigarettes, but worse. It kills our health, and it robs our time. Parallel’s between social media use and anxiety, depression, self harm, and suicide are clear and undeniable. Kids are especially vulnerable.

We need to ban phones in schools, and begin to look at social media for what it is. Nothing but harmful.

If you disagree I challenge you to this: do not consume any form of social media for 30 days.

Your life will improve.
